Mokhotlong is in the midst of winter! Here are just a few of the things we’ve accomplished in the month of June.
TTL Success!
We recently reunited, Mpho*, one of the children residing in our safe home with her caregivers! Mpho came to our safe home at 17 months, weighing 5.4kg, just under 12 pounds. Through seven months of intensive rehabilitation, Mpho soared above averages for her weight! While we will miss her, we were so fortunate to watch her grow! See her before and after shots below! Additional photos can be found on our Facebook page.

Staff Training
This month we trained 6 of our staff on proper prescription and dosage of Vitamin A and deworming medication for children under 5. Our partners at Vitamin Angels sent us educational materials to share with our staff as we prepare to distribute these vitamins through campaigns at the end of this year! We anticipate providing vitamins for around 2,000 children as well as to our current clientele.
Nutrition Corners
This month we continued to host Nutrition Corners with the Ministry of Agriculture and local nutritionists! This month’s recipe was porridge with milk. We also weighed and measured 471 children across 5 health centers. Next month we will revisit each center demonstrating how to make vegetable stew with locally sourced ingredients.
Lumela, hello! My name is Annie Fort and I am the current fellow for the Touching Tiny Lives Foundation. I graduated with a degree in sociology from Wittenberg University. As a student at Wittenberg, I worked with the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, a non-profit that packs and ships meals to organizations all over Lesotho, including TTL! Through my experience at Wittenberg and in my current position at TTL, I have learned about Lesotho’s history and the complex issues the nation faces today. I am honored to work with TTL and cannot wait to see what this year brings!
