So much has been going on at TTL recently! We were extremely lucky to have had a visit from two amazing volunteers for two weeks. Luke and Susan came the whole way to us in Mokhotlong from New Zealand and we are so thankful! Their presence here had a very positive impact on TTL and all our little Safe Home babies! They also brought a large donation of diapers and fixed some of our database issues. Our staff loved getting to know this sweet couple!
We have had two new additions to the Safe Home this month! One is a very small 2-month-old boy. He came to us very malnourished, but he has been steadily gaining weight over the last few weeks! Our other addition is a 3-year-old girl. She is very shy but extremely sweet! Her nutrition is slowly improving as well.
We have had a few birthdays at TTL in September! I used this opportunity to try to raise some money for TTL and thanks to friends and family, about $2,000 was raised which is about 25,000 Maluti! My hope is to use this money to improve things around TTL and make life easier for our incredible caregivers! Our first project is to replace the 10-year-old sink and stove in the safe home/caregiver kitchen. This replacement is long overdue and has brought lots of excitement to our staff. So, big thanks again to everyone who helped contribute!
TTL also received a lot of baby clothes donations from Seven7 Drive! They are a group that drives 7000km in 7 days for sick children with cancer. We are very lucky they drove through Mokhotlong and had the chance to stop and meet some of our kids. Here is a photo of Clay modeling some of these super cute new clothes! Thanks a bunch Seven7 Drive!
