February came with steady rains, good news, and visitors abroad!
Skoll World Forum
Our Managing Director, Mme Nthabeleng was chosen by our partners at ELMA to attend the Skoll World Forum in Oxford, England! The week-long conference will host social entrepreneurs from all over the globe and will focus on exchanging ideas and active solutions to global challenges worldwide. We are so proud of Nthabeleng and look forward to hearing about what she learned and shared with others at the conference.
Medical Students
This month we hosted three students of medicine on TTL’s campus! Two students came from Georgetown University and one came from the University of Buffalo. The students stayed for three weeks assisting the doctors at Mokhotlong hospital and learning about the practice of medicine in Lesotho. They also helped TTL in the safe home, in outreach, and at our Nutrition Corners! We loved having these students around and wish them all the best as they continue their studies!
Safe Home
We currently have ten children in the safehome! These kids constantly keep us on our toes but are always a joy to be around. Hlompho* has started to pull herself up on to two feet. Neo* has grown two more teeth in the past month! Thabisang* clearly says “Mme” (mother) and “Ntate” (father) and “uh-uh” (no translation needed). We continue to monitor each child’s progress. We love to see who each grows both physically and in their development!

Lumela, hello! My name is Annie Fort and I am the current fellow for the Touching Tiny Lives Foundation. I graduated with a degree in sociology from Wittenberg University. As a student at Wittenberg, I worked with the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, a non-profit that packs and ships meals to organizations all over Lesotho, including TTL! Through my experience at Wittenberg and in my current position at TTL, I have learned about Lesotho’s history and the complex issues the nation faces today. I am honored to work with TTL and cannot wait to see what this year brings!
