We’ve heard of Lesotho. And we need your help

Dear TTLF Followers, Donors and Supporters,

On Tuesday night, President Trump made a joke about Lesotho, referencing it as “the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of.” The line got a big laugh.

Suddenly, the small country where we’ve been doing life-saving work for decades was on people’s minds and getting typed into search engines. So we thought we’d weigh in — and ask you to help us continue our work at a critical juncture.

For more than 20 years, TTLF has had the privilege of partnering with our Basotho colleagues at TTL in Mokhotlong to bring critical care, medical support and other services to the farthest reaches of the nation’s most rural mountains. Those colleagues — including the women who watch over sick babies in our Safe Home and the outreach workers who traverse untamed terrain to deliver food packages — are some of the bravest and most compassionate people we have ever met. We are proud of them every day.

The situation in Lesotho remains dire. Food insecurity is a massive problem. HIV/AIDS remains a scourge. Our efforts to expand educational opportunities across the Mokhotlong district is a work in progress. Everyday, new needs arise.

More people need to hear about Lesotho, so we’re glad the President gave us this opportunity to spread the word. The support of donors in the U.S. to our cause of saving one child at a time has had massive impacts on the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in the world. We are saving lives. And we need your help.

Today, we ask you to remember our work, or invite you to learn about it for the first time. Our mission is unwavering. Please consider donating today.
