July Updates from TTL can be found below!
International Conference on HIV and Adolescence
TTL has been invited to the International Workshop in HIV and Adolescence hosted by Virology Education in Nairobi, Kenya! Over the course of the four day conference, our Managing Director and Finance Officer will learn more about combating HIV from other NGOs, as well as be able to share TTL’s mission and work with attendees. We are excited to endorse the conference and collaborate with other NGOs from across the globe!
Volunteers
Charlotte Hurst, a student of International Studies at Wittenberg University, volunteered with TTL for a few weeks in July! Charlotte works with our partners at the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative and was able to witness how her efforts in the US have an impact abroad. Charlotte was an excellent help in our safe home and in our outreach program and we are so happy to have hosted her!
Outreach
We supported 78 children through our outreach program in the month of July. We delivered food packages and hygiene supplies on individual home visits and conducted health assessments for each child. We still anticipate seeing an increase in the number of children referred to TTL as the drought continues.
Lumela, hello! My name is Annie Fort and I am the current fellow for the Touching Tiny Lives Foundation. I graduated with a degree in sociology from Wittenberg University. As a student at Wittenberg, I worked with the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, a non-profit that packs and ships meals to organizations all over Lesotho, including TTL! Through my experience at Wittenberg and in my current position at TTL, I have learned about Lesotho’s history and the complex issues the nation faces today. I am honored to work with TTL and cannot wait to see what this year brings!
