October at TTL

In the sun, rain, and even in the snow this month, TTL has been hard at work. We’ve been on the road, spending quality time in the safe home, and helped to deliver nutritious meals to over 70 children this month!

Vital Foods Fundraiser

We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to YOU, our supporters for helping us reach our goal and raise over $5,000 in the month of October! Our Vital Foods Fundraiser raised money for nutritious foods for all of TTL’s clients! Often these children do not have access to a variety of nutritious foods, but with packages from TTL and your tremendous support, we were able to provide over 20,000 nutritious meals to around 70 children! Kea leboha haholo (thank you very much) from these kids, their caregivers, and everyone on the TTL team!

Annual Board Meeting

Our managing director spent some time stateside this month! She attended one of our annual board meetings, got to extend her thanks to donors, and spoke with college students at Saint John’s University in Minneapolis about our work and the challenges in Lesotho. Overall, the trip was successful!

Maternal Child Health Clinics

Every quarter, TTL assists Mokhotlong hospital in conducting satellite clinics in rural communities. We help to weigh and measure children and make sure they meet important milestones. This helps us enroll children who need additional support in our outreach program and ensures that we reach even the most remote families who could benefit from our services. We saw 229 children from 7 local villages. All of the caregivers who attended these clinics, took home Nutri-Plenty meals, thanks to our partners at the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative!

Annie Fort

Lumela, hello! My name is Annie Fort and I am the current fellow for the Touching Tiny Lives Foundation. I graduated with a degree in sociology from Wittenberg University. As a student at Wittenberg, I worked with the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, a non-profit that packs and ships meals to organizations all over Lesotho, including TTL! Through my experience at Wittenberg and in my current position at TTL, I have learned about Lesotho’s history and the complex issues the nation faces today. I am honored to work with TTL and cannot wait to see what this year brings!
